Title:
THREE-DIMENSIONAL STRUCTURE OF FUNCTIONAL MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2006126595
Kind Code:
A9
Abstract:
This invention provides a three-dimensional structure of a functional material, for example, an inorganic thin film of titanium oxide or the like or semiconductor nanoparticles, which have been controlled on a nanoscale order. Ferritin having a plurality of inorganic material-bonded peptides on its surface is introduced into the surface of an inorganic substrate and is bonded in a single layer onto the inorganic substrate. An inorganic material, for which the inorganic material-bonded peptides have a bonding capability and/or a biomineralization capability, is introduced into the single layer-bonded ferritin, and a biomineral layer is formed by utilizing the biomineralization capability of the inorganic material-bonded peptides. Next, (a) the ferritin having a bonding capability to the biomineral layer is introduced into the surface of the biomineral layer, and the ferritin is bonded in a single layer form onto the biomineral layer, and (b) the inorganic material is introduced into the surface of the single layer-bonded ferritin to form a biomineral layer. The multilayering steps (a) and (b) are repeated once or a plurality of times to produce a three-dimensional structure of a functional material.
