Abstract:
A thyristor starting device (100) for accelerating a synchronous machine (20) from a stopped state to a prescribed rotation speed by sequentially executing a first mode for performing inverter (2) commutation by intermittently switching the DC output current of a converter (1) to zero, and a second mode for performing inverter (2) commutation using the induced voltage of the synchronous machine (20). In the first mode, the thyristor starting device (100) increases the induced voltage in proportion to the rotation speed of the synchronous machine (20) by keeping the field current constant, and after the induced voltage reaches a first voltage value, controls the increase in the induced voltage by decreasing the field current.
