Abstract:
A thyristor startup device (100) is configured so as to accelerate a synchronous machine (20) from a stop state to a predetermined rotational speed by sequentially executing a first mode in which an inverter (2) is commutated by intermittently forcing the DC output current of a converter (1) to zero and a second mode in which the inverter (2) is commutated using the induced voltage of the synchronous machine (20). In the thyristor startup device (100), during a first period from the start of execution of the second mode until the induced voltage of the synchronous machine (20) reaches a first voltage value, the phase control angle of the inverter (2) is changed to increase in value as the rotational speed of the synchronous machine (20) becomes higher.
