Abstract:
Provided is a tire for heavy load, which is able to have further improved durability by achieving a good balance between excellent wear resistance of a tread part and excellent cracking resistance of a belt at higher levels even in cases where the width of the belt is increased. According to the present invention, the width W3 of a third belt (16c) of a belt layer (16) that is arranged between a carcass (14) and a tread part (11) is 65-85% of the maximum tire width Wm, and the width W4 of a fourth belt (16d) of the belt layer (16) is 55-75% of the maximum tire width Wm. The metal cords used for a metal cord-rubber composite that constitutes the third belt and the fourth belt (16c, 16d) contain from 2% by atom to 60% by atom (inclusive) of N atoms in the surfaces, while having a Cu/Zn ratio of from 1 to 4 (inclusive). The rubber composition which covers the metal cords contains 1-15 parts by mass of silica and 0-1 part by mass of a cobalt-containing compound per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component.
