Abstract:
Provided are: a titanium separator material for fuel cells which exhibits excellent conductivity, excellent durability, and excellent abrasion resistance; and a method for producing the titanium separator material for fuel cells. In this titanium separator material (10) for fuel cells, a carbon-based conductive layer (2) is formed on a surface of a substrate (1) comprising pure titanium or a titanium alloy. The carbon-based conductive layer (2) is provided with a two-layer structure. In the carbon-based conductive layer (2), a layer at a side near to the substrate (1) is a carbon layer (21), and a layer at a side far from the substrate (1) is a conductive resin layer (22). The carbon layer (21) includes graphite, and has a coverage of at least 40%. The conductive resin layer (22) includes a carbon powder and a resin. The resin is a prescribed resin.
