Abstract:
Provided is a toner for electrostatic image development that applies a practical level of negative chargeability, is colorless or a light color and can be used in a color toner, is stable against environmental change, has excellent storage stability and durability, and has a highly safe charge control agent. The toner for electrostatic image development contains at least the charge control agent comprising a phenol multimeric mixture including a phenol multimeric indicated by chemical formula (1) (wherein n is an integer between 2 and 6). The phenol multimeric mixture has peaks at Bragg angles of at least 12.2° and 16.2° in an X-ray diffraction spectrum, while maintaining an integrated ratio of 2:3-2:5 between a signal appearing on a low-magnetic field side and a signal appearing on a high-magnetic field side, among signals based on a phenolic hydroxy group in the phenol multimeric thereof in nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and contains a total of 70-100 mol% of the four types of phenol multimerics indicated by chemical formulas (2)-(5).
