Abstract:
[Problem] To easily generate a tool path for a rotating tool in NC machining without using three-dimensional data relating to the "surfaces" of a workpiece. [Solution] The tool path of the rotating tool that performs NC machining of an end edge part of the workpiece is generated by performing arithmetic processing on a computer using tool data relating to the rotating tool used and machining condition incidental data, on the basis of shape data constituted by one group of continuous point groups representing the shape of the end edge part to be machined. Given that the shape data used for the arithmetic processing of the tool path relates to the "lines" of the end edge part to be machined, it is not necessary to use three-dimensional data relating to the "surfaces" of the workpiece.
