Abstract:
A lock-up device that suppresses reduction in seal characteristics of a piston sliding section. This device comprises a piston (30), a cover plate (41), a support boss (40), and a sealing member (45). The cover plate (41) is arranged between the piston (30) and the turbine (4) and forms a first oil chamber (C1). The support boss (40) is fixed to a front cover (2) and has a piston support section (40b), a welded section (40c), and an intermediate section (40e). The piston support section (40b) supports the inner circumferential end surface of the piston (30). The welded section (40c) has a smaller diameter than the piston support section (40b) and has an inner circumferential section of the cover plate (41) welded thereto. The intermediate section (40e) is formed by the intermediate diameter between the piston support section (40b) and the welded section (40c) and has formed therein an opening that supplies hydraulic oil to the first oil chamber (C1). The sealing member (45) is mounted to the piston support section (40b).
