Abstract:
The present invention relates to a torque converter and, more particularly, to a torque converter capable of maximizing the torque transfer efficiency of the torque converter. The torque converter according to the present invention comprises: a front cover coupled to a driving shaft of an engine; a front housing, which is coupled to the front cover, which has a plurality of first impellers fixed therein, and which has a fist guide portion provided to guide oil while fixing ends of the first impellers; a turbine runner, which is arranged to face the front housing, which has a plurality of first blades fixed therein, which has a second guide portion provided to guide oil while fixing ends of the first blades, and which is coupled to an output shaft; and a stator arranged between the inner periphery of the front housing and the inner periphery of the turbine runner, thereby changing the direction of flow of oil, wherein a plurality of second impellers are fixed inside the second guide portion of the turbine runner, a protrusion is formed on the outer peripheral edge of the stator so as to protrude and to face the second guide portion, the protrusion having a plurality of second blades fixed therein so as to face the second impellers, and the second impellers are formed to slope from the rotation center axis towards the outside in the opposite direction of the direction of rotation of the turbine runner.
