Abstract:
Provided is a traffic volume measurement device with which an increase in the costs associated with system construction, operation, maintenance, and the like can be suppressed, and with which the accuracy of the measurement of the number of vehicles waiting in an inbound link can be improved. An inbound traffic volume measurement unit (22) counts the number of vehicles entering a link, and an outbound traffic volume measurement unit (23) counts the number of vehicles exiting the link. A waiting vehicle quantity estimation unit (27) uses the number of vehicles that have entered the measured link, the number of vehicles that have exited the link, and a correction coefficient for a corresponding time slot registered in a correction coefficient correspondence table to estimate the number of vehicles waiting in the link. A correction coefficient updating unit (25) uses the number of vehicles that have entered the measured link and the number of vehicles that have exited the link to update the correction coefficients registered in the correction coefficient correspondence table.
