Abstract:
This transmission system that relays communications among a plurality of communication systems is provided with: a relay unit that relays uplink communication and downlink communication of a communication system, which performs a time division duplex communication, by using signals having different wavelengths; an information obtaining unit that obtains time-division information indicating timings of the uplink communication and the downlink communication in the communication system which performs the time division duplex communication; a calculating unit that calculates, for each wavelength, a free time period, which is not utilized for relaying the communication of the communication system which performs the time division duplex communication, on the basis of the time-division information; and an instructing unit that instructs the relay unit to relay the communication of a communication system different from the communication system which performs the time division duplex communication during the free time period for each wavelength calculated by the calculating unit.
