Abstract:
The present technique relates to a transmitter-receiver and a transmitting/receiving method, which are capable of suppressing decrease in the transmission efficiency at the time of reception, while maintaining the transmission efficiency at the time of transmission. According to the present invention, a first electrode is arranged close to a communication medium; a second electrode is arranged so as to face the first electrode; a third electrode is arranged close to the communication medium along with the first electrode; a transmission circuit transmits a signal by being connected to the first electrode and the second electrode; a reception circuit receives a signal by being connected to the first electrode and the second electrode; a switch electrically connects the second electrode and the third electrode to each other; and an electrode control unit controls the electrical connection between the second electrode and the third electrode by turning on/off the switch. The present technique is applicable, for example, to a transmitter-receiver which transmits or receives a signal via the human body.
