Abstract:
This transport system comprises a plurality of transport carriages and a controller. The transport carriages each have a traveling unit and a transfer unit. At the time of transfer, the controller performs blocking control for prohibiting transport carriages other than a transport carriage of interest from entering a blocking region which, in a plan view, corresponds to a region occupied by the transport carriage of interest when an article is transferred. When the article is transferred between placement stands, the transport carriage travels along a route where the transport carriage accesses the placement stand from a first direction. The area of the blocking region when the transport carriage accesses the placement stand from the first direction is less than or equal to the area of the blocking region when the transport carriage accesses the placement stand from a second direction different from the first direction.
