Abstract:
A tunable terahertz signal deflector (13) and a preparation method therefor, which relate to the field of optoelectric metering technology. The tunable terahertz signal deflector comprises: a first transparent substrate (1) and a second transparent substrate (6) which are opposingly arranged, as well as a liquid crystal layer (8), and further comprises transparent electrode layers (2, 5) and photo-alignment layers (3, 4); the photo-alignment layers (3, 4) have control patterns with molecule orientations in a periodic gradual distribution along a certain direction, and are used for controlling liquid crystal molecule orientations in the liquid crystal layer (8) to be in a periodic gradual distribution along a certain direction, forming a geometric phase-based blazed grating phase distribution, and when a circularly polarized terahertz signal is incident, said signal can be deflected at a specific angle. The deflector (13) can deflect a terahertz signal at a specified angle, and by adding electricity on a transparent electrode, switching of signal deflection and non-deflection functions can be achieved; said deflector has the characteristics of being suitable for a broad wave band, having a miniaturized form, being easy to integrate, and being low-cost, and has great application potential for terahertz communication, etc.
