Abstract:
A turbo blower for a gas laser oscillator used for machining such as cutting. The turbo blower is constituted of a shaft (2) having turbo vanes (1) at the tip thereof, a pair of bearings (5, 6) for supporting the shaft (2), and motors (3, 4) for rotating the shaft. The shaft (2) is provided with heat-radiating fins (11) for air-cooling. The heat-radiating fins (11) remove the heat generated in the rotor (3) of the motor and prevent the transfer of heat to the bearings (5, 6). The heat-radiating efficiency can be greatly improved if the heat-radiating fins are forcibly cooled using part of the laser gas. This enables the life of grease and bearings to be greatly extended. Therefore, maintenance such as greasing and replacing the bearings is required much less frequently, and reliability is improved.
