Abstract:
Provided is a turbocharge system capable of both improving fuel efficiency by engine downsizing, and good hill start performance. The turbocharge system is provided with: an electric assist turbocharger (2) having a turbine (3) disposed on the exhaust passage (6) of an engine and driven by the exhaust, a compressor (4) disposed on the intake passage (7) and driven by the rotational torque of the turbine (3), and an electric motor (5) for assisting the drive force of the compressor (4); and an electric motor control unit (21) that drives the electric motor (5) when a hill start operation is detected.
