Abstract:
An ultrasonic transducer is provided with: a drive unit which generates ultrasonic vibration along a longitudinal axis; a base end-side block which is provided on a first end side of the drive unit in the longitudinal axis; and a leading end-side block which comprises a first part provided on a second end side opposite to the first end side of the drive unit and adjoining a piezoelectric element, a second part continuous with the first part, and a third part continuous with the second part and configured such that the cross-sectional area thereof orthogonal to the longitudinal axis differs from that of the second part, and which is configured such that the position of a boundary between the second part and the third part matches or approximately matches an antinode of the ultrasonic vibration in a state in which the ultrasonic vibration is generated in the drive unit.
