A user device for transmitting a discovery signal wirelessly, said device being equipped with: a means for determining, on the basis of information from a base station, the resource group pattern used by the user device, and for determining a resource group comprising one or a plurality of discovery resources that can be used for transmitting the discovery signal from the one or plurality of resource groups included in the resource group pattern; and a means for selecting a discovery resource to be used for transmitting the discovery signal from within the determined resource group.
