Abstract:
The variable compression device according to the present disclosure comprises: a piston rod (6); a first fluid chamber (R3) which, by pressurised operating fluid being supplied, moves the piston rod in a direction that increases the compression ratio; a restriction member (7c) which restricts the movement of the piston rod in the direction that increases the compression ratio; a second fluid chamber (R6) which is provided between the piston rod and the restriction member, and stores the operating fluid; a supply passage (R7) which guides operating fluid supplied to the second fluid chamber; a discharge passage (R8) which guides operating fluid discharged from the second fluid chamber; and a flow rate restriction part (15b) which is provided to the discharge passage, and restricts the flow of the operating fluid when the piston rod approaches the restriction member.
