Title:
VARIABLE VALVE GEAR FOR ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/116895
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A variable valve gear for an engine, where, when a rocker cam is moved and positioned,
a shaft for supporting the rocker cam can be fixed by a relatively simple construction
and can be reliably fixed. A sprag (lock member)(35) fixed to a rotating shaft
(11) is placed between an upper surface (5B) of a fixed section and a mover (29)
movable in the direction of the movement with a predetermined distance to the
upper surface (5B) maintained. When the sprag (lock member)(35) is rotated
in the direction where it bites between the upper surface (5B) and the mover (29),
the rotating shaft (11) is kept immovably restrained and fixed. When the sprag
(lock member)(35) is rotated in the direction opposite the rotation direction
above, the restraint and fixation of the rotating shaft (11) is released to make
it movable.
