Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a variable valve timing control device which is able to achieve both a rapid response and reduced power consumption. This variable valve timing control device, which uses a motor to change the valve timing in an internal combustion engine, is characterized by being equipped with a first control system, a second control system, and a control value adjustment unit for assigning a weight to the output of at least the second control system and by being configured such that the motor is controlled on the basis of a sum of the output of the first control system and the second control system, the output of at least the second control system is determined in accordance with the difference between a converted angle target value and an actual converted angle for valve in the internal combustion engine, and the control value adjustment unit makes the weight assigned to the output of the second control system larger when the difference is large.
