Abstract:
This disclosure provides a vehicle control device capable of detecting abnormal heat generation of a CPU or a heat release abnormality of a cooling mechanism while suppressing an increase in size, an increase in number of components, and an increase in cost. The vehicle control device according to this disclosure includes a memory, a CPU, a temperature sensor integrated into the CPU, and a cooling mechanism for cooling the CPU. The memory stores a standard pattern SP1, a wait time tw, a standard temperature Ts, and a normal temperature difference. The CPU stores a load state of the CPU in the memory to thereby monitor the load state. The CPU calculates a temperature difference ΔTse between the standard temperature Ts and an evaluation temperature Te by the temperature sensor at a time point at which the wait time tw has elapsed since a start of the first pattern SP1 when the load state changes in the standard pattern SP1, and determines that an abnormality has occurred when the temperature difference ΔTse is larger than the normal temperature difference.
