Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a vehicle control unit which can ensure the cruising range of a vehicle. [Solution] This VCU 60, which is provided with a first battery pack 21, a second battery pack 22 and a drive motor 2 connected to each other in series, contains a voltage information acquisition unit 61 which acquires the voltage values V1 and V2 of the battery packs, a voltage value comparison unit 62 which, if an acceleration pedal 40 is in the OFF state, compares the voltage values of the in-use battery pack and a standby battery pack, and a selection unit 63 which selects a drive battery pack, wherein if the voltage difference is less than a prescribed value VP, the selection unit 63 selects both the in-use battery pack and the standby battery pack as drive battery packs, and if the voltage difference is greater than or equal to the prescribed value VP, the selection unit 63 selects whichever of the standby battery pack and the in-use battery pack has a higher voltage value as the drive battery pack.
