Abstract:
A reduction gear (4) for a vehicle is provided with a park-lock mechanism (6) for locking a drive wheel (5) in order to prevent rotation thereof. A park-lock actuator (7) is controlled by a shift controller (8). In addition to D-range and the like, a range selector (11) includes P-range and N-range as range positions in which drive force is not transmitted to the drive wheel. In a default setting, if the vehicle comes to a halt and the ignition is turned off while the N-range is selected, the P-range is automatically selected and the park-lock mechanism (6) is actuated. By performing a predetermined operation on a shift lever (12), an N-range keep mode can be enabled. In this mode, parking is possible while the N-range is selected without the park-lock mechanism (6) being actuated. The N-range keep mode can be selected as a custom setting of the vehicle.
