Abstract:
Embodiments are disclosed of an apparatus including a door control module (DCM) positioned in a vehicle door. A microswitch is coupled to the DCM, the microswitch being positioned in the vehicle door and coupled to a vehicle door handle so that the microswitch is activated by movement of the vehicle door handle. An accelerometer is coupled to the DCM in a series or parallel configuration with the microswitch, the accelerometer being positioned within the vehicle door and rigidly mounted to the vehicle door handle or rig-idly mounted to a structure within the door.
