DESCRIPTION

VEHICLE WARNING DEVICE Technical Field

The invention is related to an audible warning device to be used in vehicles.

The present invention is related to placing a trumpet, a cover and a diaphragm within the mounting pool inside both of the lateral regions of the housing having a new housing design and thus related to an audible warning device having a compact structure.

The Prior Art

In our day the vehicles need warning elements during the travel in traffic. This warning may be audible or flashing. Particularly in vehicles horns are used as audible warning devices. The air horns of the prior art cannot be mounted into the motor regions of the vehicles as they are very big in size. Therefore the air horns are mounted onto the upper parts of the vehicles. Thus the horn is substantially subjected to the external factors and the life-span of the product is shortened and on the other hand may be stolen.

In the existing air horns a lot of aluminum casting and metal parts are used and also the product cost is high as the product sizes are very big.

The invention no. TR 2000/02343 titled "a device enabling the horns in the vehicles to blow sonorously" enables the horns to blow sequentially by transferring the electric energy from the end of the device horn button to the first horn via the open end of the relay in the circuit and from the closed end of the relay to the second horn when pressed onto the device horn button which enables the horns in cars to blow sonorously to maintain the sound level. The invention no. TR 2008/04176 titled "Electronic and electromagnetic audible warning device ventilation system" relates to a ventilation system enabling the pressured and hot air generated during the operation of the horns comprising at least one diaphragm group generating sound audible for human ear when vibrated at a 5 predetermined frequency and an upper pin combining said diaphragm group thereon to discharge the air to outside by directing it over at least one ventilation channel formed on said upper pin on said diaphragm through the ventilation holes formed such that the air comes right on top of said ventilation channels and by passing through at least one filter placed such that said air comes right on top of said 10 ventilation holes.

The invention no. TR 2010/03017 titled "Automatically-controlled electronic horn" relates to an automatically-controlled electronic horn comprising at least one driver circuit, at least one electromagnetic coil driven by said driver circuit and mechanic i s sound devices operated by said coil, audial sensors receiving the signals and sending these signals to at least one automatically controlled switching circuit entry terminal; an automatically-controlled switching circuit adjusting the inducing signal frequency and the circuit ratio in order to send to said deriver circuit obtained by the combination of the entry signal and the oscillation frequency signal in the outgoing 0 inducing signal automatically in accordance with the environmental changes.

Object of the Invention

The object of the invention is to provide much smaller horns in size compared to the 5 air horns in order to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art; thus it does not take up a large space. Therefore the product may be easily mounted on the areas where it is not subjected to the external factors such as the motor part of the vehicle in contrast to the air horns. By this means the product will not be subjected to the external factors and the life-span thereof will be longer and also it will not be stolen. 0

The object of the invention is to place a trumpet, a cover and a diaphragm within the mounting pool inside both of the lateral regions of the housing having a new housing design and thus related to manufacturing a product having a compact structure. There is not used any aluminum casting materials in the product of the present invention; the product is mostly comprises of plastic materials. Therefore the manufacturing cost of the product is lower.

5 A vehicle's audible warning device for providing the above-mentioned advantages comprises a reed, a diaphragm generating the sound, a terminal transferring the voltage from the vehicle to the coil; it comprises a housing comprising a mounting pool formed within both right and left sides (A,B); cover and diaphragms secured onto the mounting pool formed within both right and left sides (A,B) of said housing; a

10 trumpet covering the said housing, cover and the diaphragms from outside.

Detailed Description of the Invention

The invention is an audible warning system for vehicles comprising a reed (7), a diaphragm (4) generating the sound, a terminal (10) transferring the voltage from the vehicle to the coil (11); it comprises a housing (5) comprising a mounting pool (5.5) formed within both right and left sides (A,B); cover (3) and diaphragms (4) secured onto the mounting pool (5.5) formed within both right and left sides (A,B) of said housing (5); trumpets (1 ,6) covering the said housing (5), cover (3) and the diaphragms (4) from outside.

It is characterized by comprising a pin (2) connecting said diaphragm (4) and cover (3) to the housing (5); a valve (9) having a-two-piece-structure used in the switching functions in order to open or close the air stream; a mounting pool (5.5) formed within both right and left sides of said housing (5); and mounting holes (5.6) formed within the gaps; an air ingress hole (5.2) formed on said housing (5); a valve connection protrusion (5.3) formed on said housing (5); a connection hole (5.1) formed on said housing (5). In Fig. 1 the general perspective view of the warning device of the present invention is shown. According to the Figure the trumpet (L.T)(1) of the device of the present invention is shown. Said trumpet (1) is a member which transfers the voice generated to outside. There is connected housing (5) under the trumpet. The housing (5) combines all of the parts within itself and transfers the air and the voice to the group.

As shown in Figure 1 there is a trumpet (H.T) (6) serving as a member transferring the generated voice to outside. There is a reed (7) to which the ventilation hose of the vehicle is connected. The connection member (8) which connects the bracket used in order to mount/connect the product of the present invention to the vehicle, to the horn is connected. Preferably, a bolt is used as said connection member (8). As shown in Figure 1 the voltage from the vehicle is transferred by a terminal (10) to the coil (11). The coil (11) enables the valve (9) to operate by providing a magnetic field.

In Fig. 2 a disassembled perspective view of the warning device of the present invention is shown. According to the figure a pin (2) is shown as a connection member which is used to connect the diaphragm (4) and the cover (3) to the housing (5). The diaphragm (4) is the voice-generating member. The cover (3) is the member which transfers the voice generated by the diaphragm (4) to the trumpets (1 ,6). The valve (9) is used to open or close the air stream as a switching member.

There are mounting holes (5.6) within the housing (5) mounting pool (5.5) and these holes (5.6) and the pins (2) secures the cover (3), diaphragm (4) and the trumpet (1 ,6) to the housing (5). The housing (5) combines a lot of members thereon by its compact structure and also has the master role. The air transfer from the air tank of the vehicle is provided by the ventilation ingress hole (5.2) and the reed (7) formed thereon to this hole (5.2). Also by providing a valve connection protrusion (5.3) the valve (9) is secured. Likewise by providing a connection hole (5.1) on a different axis the mounting of this structure is provided via the connection member (8).

The cover (3) and the diaphragms (4) are secured onto the housing (5) having a mounting pool (5.5) formed within both right and left sides (A,B) by the pins (2). Then a compact structure is obtained as a result of covering from the outside by the trumpet (1 ,6) and securing process. Therefore it is easier to adapt a device having a smaller size and a lighter weight onto the vehicle.

An air stream is carried from the vehicle's air tank to the reed (7) to which the air hose of the vehicle is connected. The valve (9) within the housing (5) keeps the air channel formed on the entry area of the reed (7) to the horn closed while there is sent no electrical energy to the horn. When the horn button of the vehicle is pressed the electrical voltage is transferred to the terminals (10) of the vehicle. The terminals

( 0) transfer the voltage to the coil (1 ) and a magnetic field is formed within the coil

(11) . The magnetic field enables the ventilation channel to open by pulling the piston within the valve (9) towards the coil (11). Therefore the air from the vehicle enters into the air channels on the housing (5) and this channel transfers the air between the cover (3) and the diaphragm (4). The diaphragm (4) starts to move upwards and downwards thanks to the air pressure generated and these movements provide the voice. The generated voice is transferred to the trumpet (1 ,6) by the channel within the cover (3). The voice is transferred to outside by the trumpet(1 ,6).
