Abstract:
The present vehicular piezoelectric generator relates to renewable sources of energy. The prior art includes a piezo ignition, piezoelectric transducers embedded beneath a road surface, piezoelectric transducers embedded beneath the rails of railway tracks, etc. The closest prior art is a footwear item with a piezoelectric transducer built into the heel. The proposed piezoelectric generator is configured, for example, in the form of strips of a woven polymer nanofibre produced by electrospinning, and, when disposed beneath the cord of a tyre tread, generates an electric current during travel along a road. Piezoelectric transducers may also be installed above shock absorbers and connected to the overall network for transformation. The electric current produced is transmitted to slip rings disposed on an axle or on a brake disc, is supplied, via contact brushes, for transformation, is rectified, and is transmitted, via a regulating relay, to a battery unit in order to recharge same, thus increasing by two times or more the range of an electric vehicle between charging from stationary sources; by increasing the number of strips beneath the treads of the tyres, the total required capacity of the batteries can be reduced to a minimum, taking into consideration the energy required to accelerate the vehicle and to light the parked vehicle at night, thus rendering the vehicle cheaper and more lightweight.
