In the present invention, a chute (21) via which a refuse-accommodating body (5) is lowered comprises a first chute (21a) and a second chute (21b), the second chute (21b) not being secured to the first chute (21a). A vertical conveyor (2) comprises an opening and closing door (81) for opening and closing a bottom end opening of the second chute (21b). The opening and closing door (81) comprises a bottom portion gate apparatus (80) for receiving a refuse-accommodating body that has been lowered through the inside of the first and second chutes (21a, 21b) with the bottom end opening of the second chute (21b) closed, and opens the bottom end opening of the second chute (21b) so as to discharge the received refuse-accommodating body (5) downward below the chute (21). A shock-absorbing-and-supporting member (9) is further provided to urge upward and support the second chute (21b) and to absorb shock generated when the refuse-accommodating body (5) is received at the opening and closing door (81).
