Abstract:
Provided is a system capable of performing distribution measurement of a time waveform of dynamic strain, in dynamic strain distribution measurement based on optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR), taking into account the effects of frequency modulation. This vibration distribution measuring system for measuring a distribution of vibrations applied to a sensing fiber is provided with a frequency swept light source which outputs frequency swept light, a light branching means for causing the frequency swept light to branch into two parts, namely probe light and local light, a light combining means for causing backscattered light from the sensing fiber, obtained by causing the probe light to enter the sensing fiber, to combine as signal light with the local light, and an analyzing unit for analyzing a beat signal obtained from output light from the light combining means, characterized in that the analyzing unit measures the beat signal with a measuring time that is sufficiently shorter than the vibration period of the sensing fiber, to estimate a distance offset from a measurement result obtained by measuring a distribution waveform of the signal light, and measures the distribution of the vibrations in an arbitrarily defined position by compensating for the distance offset.
