A vibration isolating bush built into a suspension mechanism or the like, wherein the inner diameter of one end (4) of an inner sleeve (1) is made larger than the inner diameter of a central portion (5) and the other end (6). One end surface (20) of the inner sleeve (1) is abutted against a base (23) and a pressing jig (26) is pressed against the other end surface (25), whereby the outer diameter of one end (4), which is thin, is increased. After completion of this diameter increase, the pressing of the pressing jig (26) is continued, whereby the outer diameter of the other end (6) is increased. Increasing the outer diameter of one end makes it possible to reduce the surface pressure on a member, while increasing the outer diameter of the other end prevents an outer sleeve (2) from slipping off.
