Abstract:
Disclosed are a video-based point cloud compression method and an electronic device supporting same, the method comprising the steps of: receiving input point cloud data of a 3D object having three axes; generating tree nodes for converting the input point cloud data into a tree structure; estimating, in real-time, a normal of the input point cloud data by arranging the generated tree nodes; and, on the basis of the estimated normal, carrying out video-based point cloud compression of the input point cloud data.
