Abstract:
In an imaging device, an input unit inputs video captured by the imaging device. A compression unit performs discrete cosine transform (DCT) on the video inputted by the input unit. A control unit stores, in a storage unit, the video on which the compression unit has performed DCT. A detection unit detects failure of the imaging device in cases when the size of a distribution region of significant values in a DC component, in the distribution of DCT coefficient significant values generated by the DCT performed by the compression unit, is smaller than a threshold value.
