An image decoding method, according to the present invention, may comprise the steps of: decoding, from a bitstream, information associated with a reference face; on the basis of the information, determining whether a face different from a current face comprising a current block may be used as a reference face; acquiring motion information of the current block; and performing motion compensation on the current block on the basis of the determination and the motion information.
