Abstract:
Disclosed is a video transmission device which can provide smooth testing when switching between 2D video and 3D video by being able to quickly detect a switch in the video. The video transmission device is provided with: a transmission signal output unit which outputs a video signal for displaying 2D or 3D video, an audio signal for outputting audio, and a control signal containing information relating to the video signal and the audio signal; and a control unit which controls the content of the control signal output from the transmission signal output unit. When the video signal is switched from 3D video to 2D video, the control unit controls the transmission signal output unit without interrupting the output of the video signal therefrom in such a way that information which indicates that the video signal to be output from the transmission signal output unit has been switched to 2D video, is included in the information which indicates that the video signal which has just been output from the transmission signal output unit is 3D video.
