The conventional art has a problem that the processing of video signals in video transmission between or among any plurality of devices has not been taken into account. In order to solve this problem, a video transmission system, which comprises, for example, a video signal transmission apparatus and a video signal reception apparatus, is characterized in that: the video signal transmission apparatus transmits, to the video signal reception apparatus, information related to a processing condition of a video signal; the video signal reception apparatus having received the information related to the processing condition of the video signal transmits, to the video signal transmission apparatus, a request for the processing condition of the video signal on the basis of the received information related to the processing condition of the video signal; and the video signal transmission apparatus having received the request for the processing condition of the video signal transmits, to the video signal reception apparatus, the video signal as processed on the basis of the received request for the processing condition of the video signal.
