Abstract:
The present invention enhances the accuracy of volume estimation for an object inside a container using photographed images of the object inside the container when there is a blind-spot area in the photographed images. A volume estimation device is provided with a blind-spot estimation unit 310 for estimating a blind-spot area of an object inside a bucket 13, a blind-spot area shape estimation unit 320 for estimating the shape of the part of the object in the blind-spot area, and a volume estimation unit 330 for estimating the volume of the part of the object in the blind-spot area. The blind-spot estimation unit 310 estimates the blind-spot area using mesh parallax data determined on the basis of photographed images of the object within the bucket 13 taken by a plurality of cameras. The blind-spot area shape estimation unit 320 estimates the shape of the part of the object inside the blind-spot area from the mesh parallax data. The volume estimation unit 330 estimates the volume of the part of the object in the blind-spot area on the basis of the shape of the part of the object in the blind-spot area estimated by the blind-spot area shape estimation unit 320 and the shape of the bottom of the bucket 13.
