Abstract:
Disclosed are a washing machine and a control method therefor. The washing machine comprises: a detergent dispensing device, configured to dispense a detergent; a water supply assembly, configured to supply washing water; and a detection device, configured to generate a start instruction for starting the detergent dispensing device or the water supply assembly after detecting a signal about the proximity of laundry to be washed. Further, the detection device is configured to generate a start instruction for starting the detergent dispensing device or the water supply assembly after detecting that a duration of a signal about the proximity of laundry to be washed exceeds a set threshold. In the present invention, the detergent dispensing device for dispensing a detergent and the water supply assembly for supplying water are provided on the washing machine, and the detection device detects whether there is laundry to be washed in the vicinity of said devices to control whether to start said devices; during local cleaning, the processes of wetting laundry and adding a detergent can be performed alternately, thereby improving the cleaning effect of a local position.
