Abstract:
Disclosed is a washing machine. A washing machine is disclosed. The washing machine comprises: a main body; a tub provided inside the main body; a drum rotatably provided inside the tub; and a drive apparatus configured to drive the drum to rotate, wherein the drive apparatus comprises: a motor including a drum shaft connected to the drum, a stator, and a rotor which is rotatable through interaction with the stator; a sun gear connected to the rotor; a carrier connected to the drum shaft; a planetary gear provided to transmit rotational force of the sun gear to the carrier; and a cooling passage through which air is suctioned and exhausted to cool the sun gear, the cooling passage including a first cooling hole formed in the sun gear to allow outside air to flow in and a second cooling hole formed in the rotor to discharge internal air.
