Abstract:
The invention overcomes the problem that, when the tip of a micro needle is immersed in an aqueous drug solution to coat the tip of the micro needle with the drug, the aqueous drug solution rises due to capillary action, and so quantitative drug loading is extremely difficult. The invention provides a water-repellent-coated micro needle and a micro needle array comprising a drug coat layer at the tip portion of the micro needles. The invention also provides a production method for the micro needle array containing the drug coat layer at the tip portions, comprising: a step of using a template to form the micro needle array; a step of coating the micro needles of the formed micro needle array with a water-repellent; and a step of immersing the tips of the water-repellent-coated micro needles into an aqueous drug solution so as to hold the drug.
