Abstract:
Provided are: a water vapor suppression material that is capable of resolving root causes of meteorological disasters by covering ocean surface so as to allow moderate generation of water vapor while suppressing excessive generation of water vapor, and that has a low impact on the environment; and a production method therefor. By dispersing, over a wide area of water surface so as to cover the surface of a body of water, this water vapor suppression material produced by drying granules obtained by granulating a plant-derived natural glue or a mixture of powder of a plant material and a plant-derived natural glue, excessive evaporation of water vapor is suppressed while maintaining water vapor evaporation at an adequate level. Meanwhile, because only plant-derived raw materials are used, it is possible for those materials to be returned to the environment in the water.
