Abstract:
A water vaporizing type cooler of a small size heat-generating element which lowers the temperature of the heat-generating element below the ambient temperature and which is suitable for the environmental preservation. The water vaporizing type cooler has an enclosed space in which the air is enclosed and, further, the heat-generating element is housed, a reservoir which is provided in the enclosed space and in which water is stored, a water-proof layer formed on the surface of the heat-generating element, a water-impregnated layer which is formed on the water-proof layer and whose one end is immersed in the water stored in the reservoir when the heat-generating element is housed in the enclosed space, an air circulation path whose both ends communicate with the enclosed space and which forms a closed loop through which the air is circulated together with the enclosed space, an air circulating means which is provided in the air circulating path and circulates the air along the surface of the water-impregnated layer, a dehumidifying means which is provided in the air circulating path and which condenses and separates and recovers moisture contained in the air circulated along the surface of the water-impregnated layer and a water returning means which returns the water recovered by the dehumidifying means into the reservoir. As the air is circulated along the surface of the water-impregnated layer, water with which the water-impregnated layer is impregnated is vaporized and the heat-generating element is cooled by the vaporization latent heat of the water.
