Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing wheat or the like having a short anther trait, the method comprising a step for artificially inhibiting the function of at least one gene of wheat or the like, the gene being selected from the group consisting of: (a) a gene encoding a protein comprising the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 10, 12, 14, or 16; (b) a gene encoding a protein comprising the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 10, 12, 14, or 16, with one or more amino acids substituted, deleted, added, and/or inserted; (c) a gene encoding an amino acid sequence that is at least 80% homologous to the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 10, 12, 14, or 16; and (d) a gene including DNA which hybridizes, under a stringent condition, with DNA comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 10, 12, 14, or 16.
