Abstract:
The present invention relates to a wheelchair having a detachable and attachable power transfer apparatus. The wheelchair includes wheels, a seat sheet, armrests, and a backrest. Furthermore, the wheelchair comprises: a power transfer apparatus; contact pads; and a steering device. The power transfer apparatus comprises: a connection housing which is mounted at and connected to the lower portion of the back side of the wheelchair; a shock absorber extending backwards from the center part of the connection housing; one electric wheel, which is fixed and connected to the shock absorber by means of a supporting pole and which comes into contact with the ground; a driving motor, connected to the shaft of the electric wheel, for rotating the electric wheel; a secondary battery, which is fixed to and mounted at the front side of the connection housing; and a controller, which is wire-connected or wirelessly connected to the driving motor and the secondary battery, for controlling the operation and power of the driving motor. The contact pads are adjacent to both wheels. The steering device is connected to the contact pads by means of wires, and performs steering in a manner that if a lever is left- or right-controlled, either of the wires is pulled and then the contact pads come into contact with either of the wheels so as to brake the wheel. In addition, the power transfer apparatus is mounted by connecting the connection housing to both supporting rods which support the wheels. Accordingly, as described above, due to having a power transfer apparatus, which has a simple and light structure, is easy to detach and attach, and can be easily mounted in generic entry-level wheelchairs, the present invention provides a wheelchair that has high portability for long-distance travel and can easily change the direction, control the operation and brake.
