Abstract:
In order to improve the assembling workability and machining precision of a wire electric discharge machine, a column (9) and a lower supportor (24) of the machine are provided separately from each other. The lower supportor (24) has a unified structure of a base part (24a) which has the same cross-sectional shape as that of the column (9) and a central protruding part (24b) which protrudes from the center of the lower surface of the base part (24a) for supporting a lower arm (12). The lower arm (12) is attached to the central protrusion part (24b) of the lower supportor (24) and, for instance, a Y-axis guide (4b) which is guided by the Y-axis guide rail (4a) of a Y-axis guide mechanism (4) is attached to the lower surface of the base (24a) of the lower supportor (24). After that, the lower surface of the column (9) is fixed to the base (24a) with bolts (15).
