Abstract:
Disclosed are a wireless base station and a power control method therefor with which a wireless base station device installed in a home or office is capable of high-speed data communication with a relatively inexpensive price plan even when a transmission from a portable terminal is received during a low-power consumption mode. At a preset time, or when a power control unit (13) detects that a portable terminal is not within the wireless area of a wireless base station device, the supply of power to a wireless transmission unit (11) and a wired communication unit (12) by a power supply unit (14) is stopped, and when a wireless reception unit (10) receives a transmission request from a portable terminal, power is supplied to the wireless transmission unit (11) and the wired communication unit (12) by the power supply unit (14).
