Abstract:

A communication system comprising: a communication management unit; an access point; and a plurality of traveling flatcars. The access point is connected to the communication management unit. Each of the traveling flatcars has a wireless communication unit. The communication system performs wireless polling communication between the communication management unit and the plurality of traveling flatcars, via the access point, in each polling cycle (T). In the communication system, a process including a wireless communication party-adding step is performed in order to accept a new traveling flatcar as an object with which wireless communication is to be performed. In the wireless communication party-adding step, within a polling cycle (T), a connection sequence for accepting a new traveling flatcar in the communication system is executed during an idle time after the end of wireless polling communication between the communication management unit and the plurality of traveling flatcars and until the end of a period of time during which wireless polling communication is enabled.
