Abstract:

Provided is a work machine with which it is possible to improve the degree of freedom in design with respect to the surroundings of an extending/retracting boom and to improve the reliability during extension/retraction of the boom. The present invention comprises: an extension/retraction actuator that moves a first boom in an extension/retraction direction relative to a second boom; an electrical drive source provided to a movable part of the extension/retraction actuator; a first securing pin that couples the extension/retraction actuator and the first boom; a first coupling mechanism that switches a coupling state between the extension/retraction actuator and the first boom on the basis of motive power of the electrical drive source; a second securing pin that couples the first boom and the second boom; a second coupling mechanism that switches a coupling state between the first boom and the second boom on the basis of the motive power of the electrical drive source; and a torque limiter that is positioned between the electrical drive source and the first coupling mechanism or the second coupling mechanism, and that keeps a load at or below a prescribed value, the load acting on a mechanical element constituting a motive power transmission path from the electrical drive source.
