Abstract:

To provide a new agent for inhibiting tumor metastasis based on the finding that an ADAMTS-1 protein (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin type 1 motiefs protein) is useful as an antimetastatic agent of cancer.

This agent for inhibiting the tumor metastasis contains the ADAMTS-1 protein or a functionally equivalent modified body thereof, a polynucleotide encoding the ADAMTS-1 protein or the functionally equivalent modified body thereof, or a recombinant vector containing the polynucleotide as an active ingredient.
