Abstract:

To provide a carbon ceramic composite body which can easily be manufactured at a low cost and which is excellent in oxidation resistance, shock resistance, heat shock resistance or the like even at a temperature as high as ≥800°C.

The carbon ceramic composite body has a base body made of a carbon material and a surface layer body made of a ceramic fiber reinforced composite material. The ceramic fiber reinforced composite material is specified to have ceramic fibers and a matrix containing alumina phosphate (AlPO4), alumina (Al2O3) and silica (SiO2) as the main components.
