To obtain a cleaning liquid which can efficiently clean staining due to a colored composition containing a pigment having a specified average particle size, a binder resin, and a solvent by incorporating the solvent contained in the composition into the same.

This cleaning liquid is used for cleaning a colored composition containing a pigment having an average particle size of 0.5 μm or lower, a binder resin [e.g. a benzyl (meth)acrylate/(meth)acrylic acid copolymer], and a solvent (e.g. a mixture of cyclohexanone, methyl 3-ethoxypropionate, and propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate) and contains at least one kind of solvent contained in the composition. Preferably, the cleaning liquid further contains a surfactant and/or, preferably, a resin which is a binder resin contained in the composition. Preferably, a residue prepared by centrifuging the colored composition to remove the pigment therefrom is incorporated into the cleaning liquid.
